LIFE BRANDED….Jessica Lynne Constable
Jessica started off at 15 in Rochester, Michigan, where she taught herself to make what she called a, “totally rad” star ankle bracelets at a local pool. While making these beaded ankle bracelets, four women bought them from her on the spot. The unintentional sales changed her professional life forever. Inspired to earn teenage “fun money” by selling jewelry rather than baby-sitting, she soon learned new jewelry techniques and sold her designs to teachers, students, and stores across Michigan. When she graduated high-school, her jewelry was sold in 12 boutiques. Wow!
Jessica began college in 2003, at the University of Michigan and studied Business Administration at the Ross School of Business. While struggling through operations management and corporate finance classes, she continued selling jewelry and re-named the business Jess LC. In her junior year, she interned in New York City with Macy’s Merchandising Group within Product Development. Though she enjoyed the experience, she found herself wanting to make changes to the designs, pricing, hang-tags, even the Logo. So after graduation she resolved this by becoming CEO of her company, Jess LC. When she graduated she named “Entrepreneur of the Year. (The Life Brand was Alive)
After graduation in August of 2007, she moved to Chicago and started Jess LC full-time. Setting up shop in a small studio apartment as a one-woman show. Through faith she persisted. By the end of 2008 Jess LC was sold in over 100 stores nationwide. At that point she had a lovely team of interns, part-time help, and awesome sales reps.
In January of 2009, she started a blog called MakeunderMyLife.com. This site soon became the vehicle for her to spread her message of “designing a life with intention.” Jessica states, “there is one thing I’ve learned from eleven years of self-employment, it’s that we have the ability, in large part, to create the life we want. If you’re interested in pursuing your purpose, simplifying your life, or just being more intentional.”
Jessica, discovered her passion as early as 15. Amazingly, she was able to understand her Life Brand, passion and purpose. She has taken Jess LC and turned it into a national Brand, simply by doing what comes natural. Now, she has found another outlet of creativity, exploration, and her message platform. Blogging can become a way for you explore your passions and purpose. It takes some determination, persistence, and consistency, but so does a Life Brand. What ever you want in life, may not always come easy, but when it’s what you’re suppose to do it’s the best time of your life.
Jessica, has been persistent with her passion, which has lead to a wonderful Life Brand. When pursuing a Life Brand, Like Jessica she saw an opportunity at Macy’s to make changes, and imagined what her own Brand would in tell, from the designs, pricing, hang-tags, even the Logo.
