Vol. XIX Mickey Lynn

Innovative. Style. Simple.

Mickey Lynn spent over ten years working as an IT professional. Feeling like something was missing in her career, she began to pursue other passions and soon discovered what the missing element was as she began to design jewelry for friends and family. Mickey’s new found “hobby” immediately became an outlet for both her technical and artistic skills. Her hidden artistic side is derived from her mother, a practicing artist. Mickey founded Mickey Lynn in 2005 with her partner Seth Shindeldecker. She attributes the balanced use of both her left and right brain as contributing factors to her entrepreneurial success.

Pursuing her passion full time in 2008, Mickey opened an Atlanta studio and gallery. She has developed fans of her work across the country and celebrities including Christina Applegate, Courtney Cox, Elisabeth Hassel Beck, Lisa Edelstein, and Miley Cyrus to name a few. Mickey’s designs have also been worn on popular television shows like Access Hollywood, Dirty Sexy Money, Ghost Whisperer, Samantha Who, and The View.

Raised in the South, Mickey Lynn earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Birmingham-Southern College. She regularly challenges herself to improve her artistic skills by taking design classes and practicing new techniques. Mickey continues to evolve and refine her designs with contemporary, yet timeless patterns using the most unique and precious gemstones and metals.

As a systems engineer for Delta for nine years, Lynn knows more than most about staying at the forefront of technology. And with this same gusto, she explored innovative methods in metalsithing. Her discovery? A material developed and patented by Mitsubishi called precious-metal clay that allows her to sculpt and sand the designs like clay, then fire and tumble them into organic shapes with a silver or gold finish, some of which she embeds with pearls or Swarovski crystals.

Deanna J. wrote, “Isn't it inspiring when people make completely crazy career moves? I love hearing stories like these, and especially when the second career translates into something that could be a cute accessory for me. Mickey Lynn Designs is just such a story. It's hard to imagine the super stylin' designer in her former career in IT, but 'tis a true story. She's now a successful jewelry designer, and even got to show off the shine on The View.”

This is what a good Life Brand is all about.  Deanna J. recognized how Mickey’s story transcended from passion to purpose.  Life Branded is here to help you do just that.
